The New Zealand Centre for Precision Agriculture is pleased to hold the 11th Australasian Symposium on Precision Agriculture. The symposium is an opportunity for farmers and growers, researchers, extension and commercial companies to present and discuss the latest aspects of Precision Agriculture. The symposium will discuss issues particularly relevant to New Zealand at the present time, These include:

  • Controlled Traffic and strip tillage.
  • Irrigation standards and variable rate irrigation.
  • Business development.
  • Precision dairying and automation.
  • Soil mapping and proximal sensing.
  • Viticulture


There will also be an opportunity for delegates from Australia to present research and farming practices related to precision agriculture. Those wishing to present should contact Ian Yule: I.J.Yule@massey.ac.nz ASAP, as there are limited spaces. Once accepted, we require an abstract before 27th August 2007.

The aim of the symposium is to provide up to date information from researchers and growers which is valuable to those working in the area of precision agriculture and related fields.

Attendance is open to all those with in interest in agricultural developments within this region and it gives New Zealanders an opportunity to hear what is happening across the ditch as well as within New Zealand itself. The cost of attendance is NZ$150, registration should be completed by august
Also of interest to delegates is the joint dinner to be held with the Fertiliser Application Technology Workshop which is being held the day before.
This workshop will also have strong precision Agriculture element to it, but particularly related to the application of fertiliser.
